Taking a Step Back: Thoughts on the Overwhelming Process of Building/Remodeling

During our company meeting, we were discussing the building process and the effect it has on the clients. Kathye offered some great insight and thoughts on this, that are great things to keep in mind during the process. Remember when going through the building/remodeling experience that it is, in fact a process. While the kitchen or bath are being built/remodeled remember to take a step back and see the project as a whole. The paint, cabinetry, countertop and flooring; and how they compliment each other. Know that uncertainty is part of the experience and you are watching the space unfold before you. It is important to be a part of the project, although don't panic along the way. The thing you were unsure of the most is typically the thing that was meant to be!

2011 Mountain Home Expo

What a great way to kick off the building/remodeling season here in Summit County! It was a beautiful weekend for the 2011 Mountain Home Expo. We had lots of visitors stop by for our delicious coffee out of our Miele Coffee System, which is only one of the several appliances we can provide our customers with here at Kitchenscapes. Our booth displayed Custom Wood Products, Miele, Subzero, Fleurco and some of our other products. Check out our website to see the full product line we offer.

After talking to many of the visitors, I realized that they were under the impression we only work on high-end custom homes. Contrary to popular belief, Kitchenscapes is a design firm that can accommodate most clients’ budgets. We have worked on Custom Homes, Remodels and Affordable Housing. We are more then happy to look at any project you may have and see how we may help you. We want to say thank you to our visitors at the Expo and we look forward to working with you this year!

Spring is in the air, lets wash some dishes!

Spring is in the air in the high country, thoughts are turning to gardening, hiking and one of my favorites...grilling! Now that's not to say that grilling is only for beautiful spring weather, we grill all winter with snow piles everywhere. It just takes a little longer for the grill to heat up when below 20 degrees.

My question is, what about those dishes during the summer months when you have those family cookouts or get togethers with the friends? Not everybody uses paper plates for these events...

Well, our appliance suppliers have thought of our entertaining needs (because who wants to worry about dirty dishes while entertaining) and have started sending information on their outdoor dishwashers.

One of these is the Asko D5934 Outdoor Dishwasher

Some of the features that caught my eye:

Has six wash programs and six wash temperature settings up to 160º Fahrenheit.

Easy to install with an outdoor rated electrical power cord, water supply (PEX) hose and drain hose connected at the factory.
All electronics and wiring are protected from the elements and made to last through the coldest

Another Day in paradise

Well lets see. Saturday it was a beautiful cobalt blue sky day. My band mates and I took advantage of it by going our separate ways, some went snowboarding, some went snowshoeing, and others (we won't mention any names) spent some time working at the new Kitchenscapes showroom. Later that evening we went over to the Main Street Bar and Grill in Edwards Colorado and proceeded to tear the roof off the place with our band Crazy oTTo!http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Crazy-oTTo/354930730511 . Then we drove back over Vail Pass after the show in a blizzard! We woke up to snow blowing sideways and the highway being closed for 6 hours. That was yesterday, today its clear and really cold for April, but I've been here 30 years and should expect this. Tomorrow 60 and sunny again. So now when I leave the house I make sure I pack the following: Gloves, hats, Sorel's, sneakers, warm coats, short sleeve shirts, skis, a light jacket, a mountain bike, golf bag, sunglasses, a hoodie, and whatever else I can fit in the truck. I'm so confused....................!
